It’s your birthday!

I’m writing this as your year younger counterpart, or maybe I’m a companion? I don’t know, don’t ask me the technicalities.

I’m sure you’re very excited, and I’m sure your friends and family have surprised you, just the way you like it, and made you super excited for today.

I know, sometimes, it feels like everything will change next year. School, friends, classes, teachers, cities. But it’ll be fine. You’ll have life in control.

I know, it’s hard for you, to imagine life after this year. But you’ll do alright. I know you will. For now, just go with the flow. You’re unique, and you’re flawed, and it’s perfectly alright.

It’s okay to be selfish Sep.

It’s okay to want things for yourself.

It’s okay to be ambitious.

It’s okay to want to be a rebel.

I just want you to remember, that you’ve come a long way. From the stupid girl who spoke too much in class, you’re now a strong, independent girl who got trophies in international debate competitions. You’re no longer scared of the world, you’re confident. You have been successful in whatever you put your mind to.

You became a reader because you wanted to, you polished your speaking skills, because you wanted to. You cracked Behes, you cracked Diplomathon and WSC.

You’re YOU. You’ll be good at whatever you do. You’ll make it good.

As you turn a year older, you’ll become wiser, and more immature. Just never lose the silly, weird, psycho you.

Happy Birthday. You’re perfect the way you are.

Dear Bloggers and everyone who’s reading this,

It’s my birthday today. And I have a feeling this is going to be my best birthday ever. Before today, I shared my birthday with my family. But today, I have so many friends to be thankful and grateful for. Last year, on this date, I started out a blog (on blogger) but it was still a blog. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to get to know so many people, and such nice people who I’ve come to care about.

Here’s a shoutout to all the wonderful friends I’ve made.

1)Pannaga-

Yes Pan, you’re first. You’re the first real friend I made online. Remember how we started off on blog comments, then goodreads, then whatsapp and then gchat? I am so so sooo thankful to the world for making me meet you (online). You’re a best friend, an older sister, a younger sibling and a mom all combined. I adore you, thank you so much for being you!!

2)Rayna-

Look how I wrote your actual name? Ray darl, you’ve been a total younger sister for me. You’re SUCH A COOL KID. I have no idea how we started off (blame my memory) but I’m very glad for you too. Ray, Rayndrop, and Ray of sunshine. Keep being sarcastic and keep giving me advice. ‘Cause believe it or not people, 6th graders have EPIC advice.

3) PBS-

HEY LOOK. Pbj, it’s you in the list. You and your on the spot sense of humour. I do remember how we started off, you were this super brainy, super polite whiz kid who I thought was in 12th but actually wasn’t. And then I had a science exam and I turned to you for *help* and then we started talking. Then I had a huge fight with my irl friend and turned to you for *help* again. And then we REALLY started talking. I’ve got to know you so much more than just whiz kid now. Keep being my support pillar Pbj.

4) Riddhi

Okay, I’ll be honest now. When I started out blogging, Ridhs, you were my inspiration. You had such a cool blog, I mean, you still do. And your posts were always on time, and you had a niche for your featured images, and you had fun bookish stuff too. I just wanted to be so much like you. I’m glad for the time we got to know each other, and I’ll say it again, I love your blog, very much.

5) Simran

DADI, look who’s here. Shoutout to dadi for awwing over my relationship, making me jealous of her being old and doing garba. Oh and did I mention her catching onto blogging so quickly? It’s only been 2 months of you dadi, but you’re part of my circle, wait no, you’re part of my quadrilateral. Quadrilaterals are so much prettier.

Well, look. I love all of you. I really do. Don’t ever fall out of touch okay?
