I wake up on Christmas morning
With an awfully silly thought
That snow might somehow be falling
Like miracles in movies I watched
But who am I kidding?
The closest to snow we come
Is the incredibly rare hail storm
Haha, I’m dumb.
I see shops decorated
Lights, a tree, the whole shabang
The air however is filled with smog
Instead of a strong smell of Christmas cheer
And the happy people are hidden with fog.
I’ll just stay at home ‘Celebrate’ wistfully with familyLuna
And read about others’ amazing days
While I sit alone.
Wow! I think that’s an amazingly realistic poem for those who do not celebrate Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I like Christmas and everything, but what if we don’t celebrate it? What about us, who hang trees only for decorations, have no idea about the real traditions?
I mean, yes, we do celebrate it our own way. But it’s a bit hard to relate with all those cheesy movies and books. I know for sure you won’t be alone Luna. Because nobody is alone on Christmas!
