Unfinished- Blog Series

Dared to Dream.

If I was a little girl again,
I’d run and run and run
Away from all the pain
In the direction of fun

Hop over the meadows
Gallop over the fields
Past the stuffy bungalows
Away from this battlefield

I would have the power of dreams
Untrodden, untouched and raw,
Silent as the ray that gleams
A future, that only I shall draw

I would hide away
Far from the world
Of crushed dreams that sway
In the so called reality

All I dared,
Was to dream.
And the world scared
The life out of me.

So, I wrote this poem because I well. Frustrated.

I was frustrated of the expectations people have from me. Expectations are good, but when they crush your dreams, they’re toxic. It’s hard fighting against toxicity, because half the time, you don’t even realise that it’s toxic. And the other half?

You just don’t have the courage.

But, start slow, start. Walk slow, but walk. Dream slow, but never stop daring to dream.

Let me know in the comments below, what’s a dream you’d want to accomplish, but you’re too scared to?

See you on Monday!

Love, Sep.

  1. I’ve seen this title somewhere before I guess. I don’t know why, anyways 😂 Great poem! And you are always so good at rhyming these words (unlike me) and create a beautiful story with your words, in a rhyming and poetic form. You keep dreaming! Let us see who stops you 😀♡

    1. Ahhh.
I think I must’ve subconsciously got inspired from there. I felt like there was a movie or something with this name, but I couldn’t remember. Thank you for inspiring me!! Should I add in the credits??

      1. Haha, there probably is a song or movie – it’s too beautiful a phrase to have never been used before!
I’m not sure I did but of course 😂
Not at all, Sep! I doubt you read my poem, it was posted months ago before I knew you (I think!).
Anyhow, you don’t have to do anything at all! We’re all entitled to our creative liberty.

This poem is beautiful and I’m so grateful you shared it with us!
