Rain, rain, don’t go away.

I love how the sky looks just after rain
As if all world has been washed in the washing machine
They romanticise the raindrops, the smell of earth
While I idealize children laughing with mirth

It almost feels like a different world,
Almost like, a fake reality
I used to think rain was the crying from heaven
Brought on bad deeds done by heathens

Although, now that I think of it,
Rain is anything but a symbol of pain,
It’s the unleash of powerful nature
The ceasefire in battles
It brings out the best in us,
Laughing and running for shade in the dusk

At the end of the day,
Rain, rain, don’t go away.

I really do love the sky after rain.

The first two lines came to me as I was walking back home from the market. And then I went in and wrote this poem, and forgot that I had bought myself stuff to eat.

So. Typical. Me.

Well, I’m sure we all appreciate rain. Maybe not like it, but we appreciate it. Don’t you like the pouring from the clouds after a long hot day. Or a drizzle in the morning?

Let me know how you see the sky after it has rained. And if you haven’t noticed, then notice it next time!

Happy Weekend!

  1. ahhh I love rainnn. Ukululu-ing or writing or reading or drawing (basically anything I do~) is 100 times better when it’s raining outside.
Getting drenched is also awesome though.
